The massive metal doors burned with cold. Intricately designed and as thick as twenty shields, they were nothing less than a solid wall. The tormenting snow polished the iron with a white dust. The mountainside seemed almost whole in the brisk of the morning fog.
Stormwind found no Tram that morning. The station was crowded with hopeful travelers who were left with nothing but a dark and empty corridor.
"They've shut down the city?", "How can a city be closed?", "Ironforge has shut it's gates!". The exclamations echoed through the corridor that was Stormwind's Tram Station. All was broken by the entrance of Stormwind Guard, behind them Fordragon himself. "Step aside, by order of the King," spoke one of the Guardsmen.

After taking the time to silence the crowd, Bolvar stood to address them. "Good people of Stormwind. I must declare my ignorance on this situation. Ironforge, the great city of the Dwarves has shut its main gate and removed the Tram from it's tracks. Why they've done this, we have no understanding. Utterly unwarned." Bolvar spoke with power and command, not sparking a single mutter. "As far as we can tell, the Tramway remains open. We are in hopes we can send a group into Ironforge to discover the meaning behind this."
Fordragon stepped down from the bench, creaking it as he did so, heavy with armor. "Now..." he spoke just as the crowd began to chatter. "Who would be up for such a task?"

Zeet stood up from where he sat on the nearby ground after hearing such non-sense. "I'll go, this is just foolishness. Any who shall follow, should come along the tram line. We'll follow it into the city." Zeet spoke outloud and certain that there was little blame to this.

From the crowd stepped forth a High Elven ranger, her eyes on Fordragon, sympathetic to him. She waved her hand and a red and orange dragonhawk came from the corner it had been curled up in. "I'll help." She bowed as the dragonhawk flew under hand and she patted the creature's head. Neither seemed particularly imposing or strong. The elf stood in brown leathers and fully equipped with a sword and a bow but the loose, fancy swashbuckler's shirt sleeves that were seen in place of bracers or leather certainly accentuated her elven slightness. Even so, the orcs and trolls had learned quickly that one did not underestimate a Quel'dorei huntress just because they were smaller. Not only that but this one did not look to be new to battle. The tip of her left ear was cut off and she seemed to be ready for combat at any moment, even surrounded by all these Alliance citizens. "Ready for a little walk, Rih?" she smiled and whispered to the animal.

Zeet nodded, his white robes flowed down to his wrists and feet. His orange hair was tied into a ponytail. "We're going to need more people to go along." he called outloud.

A voice called out into the room as the speaker strolled in. The tall Draenei women strolled up fully armed and ready. "Anira at yer service. Figurin' I should be helpin' in a cause like this mos' I can do fer Stormwind righ' now." Her hair was at neck length, auburn colored and straight. A cat padded in with brown fur, moving slowly as if it had just been woken up. "I am tha bes' damn tracker ya can find an' not a bad shot." A large blue spear was slung across her back, an orange crossbow holstered at her side. Her black armor offset her dark purple skin tone, she carried her helmet in a free hand.

Bolvar smiled at the three. They didn't seem like the most battle-hardened and sure fought individuals, but he didn't care much. He didn't expect any sane to follow him into a mysteriously closed city on a track that could kill them at any moment, shooting a Tram at them.
"Good... good..." he paused, looking around at the rest of the crowd. "Will anyone else joining us?"

"I s-shall, if you'll t-take me." The woman who emerged from the press of people on the platform with some difficulty was small and slight, robed and hooded in deep crimson and carrying a long staff with a fiery gem on the top strapped across her back. What could be seen of her face was deeply tanned with a few strands of escaping silver hair visible against the blood-hue of her hood. "I am q-quite familiar with these t-tunnels and c-can be of some u-use in...i-in a pinch."

Another individual was amongst the crowd as he spoke out. "Fine...I'll join along." A blood elf wearing a full leather cloak with fur outlining, his hood hid over his elven ears and long straight reddish brown hair. All that was visible were his emerald eyes and a pointed goatee. On his belt hanged two daggers, one red and the other blue. He figured he might as well see for himself what the problem is. "Shade Voxzaco, My specialty is stealth tactice and I'd make a great scout and assassin.

Anira was sitting on the floor playing with Rix, her lynx, when the blood elf walked in. She glared at him as he introduced himself to those in the room. Deeply distrustful of his kind she instantly protested to Bolvar.
"We ain' lettin' no blood elf go with us. I mean I fer one don' wan him able ta study all of the designs down there! It ain' safe ta let him go with us!"

Celune didn't seem at all perturbed at the sight of the blood elf--in fact, it would seem to anyone who bothered to look that she was smiling slightly, as though at some private thought.

A gnome charged forward from the crowd, pummeling her way with the flat of her shortsword and a battered buckler. Anyone who didn't move fast enough for her liking got two bruised shins. The creature's mop of pink hair stuck up in all directions as she screeched, "Wait! For meee!" Her high voice veritably rebounded off the walls.
Bowling over a small child, the gnome finally skidded to a stop in front of the assembled party.
"Call m' Monette. I loik to 'it things, and I ken take an 'itting. I'll be coming long, eh? Ya'll gonna be fine with me takin' all the glory?"

Shade retaliated Anira's glare with a cold glare of his own. "And yet you allow a high elf ranger to join with you? Normally, I wouldn't help a bunch of miners who hide in their mountain seeking riches. But when they are locking their city gates, it's obviouse they are hiding something from all of us. Even from you Draenei."

Tyhlae sighed loudly and shouted a loud "Hey!" to grab attention. "Look, the Sin'dorei have been in both of these cities before, you don't think they already know the layout of this place? Plenty of Sin'dorei could walk through here backwards. Don't get me wrong, Miss Anira, it's not that I'm siding with a Kael'thas lover but you can't outright disregard someone for their race." Tyhlae shook her head and turned to the Blood Elf, blue eyes glowing brightly. Both her and her dragonhawk bowed deeply. "And I'm happy to have along any help we can get, Mr. Shade."

Shade smirked. "No need for the 'Mr.' stuff, just Shade is fine enough." he replied as he bowed back. "And just so you know, I don't serve Kael'thas. Lets just say because of him, I'm forced to live like a hermit."

Monette watched the friction between the blood elves with interest. She suddenly stepped in between the two. "Stop arguing, you over-thin magic addicts," she admonished, ignoring the fact that one was a high elf and one was a blood elf.
The gnome didn't make fine distinctions; she'd been hit too many times on the head to be overly analytical or intellectual.
"Anyways," Monette continued hurriedly, "I don't know why you two skinny-things are coming along anyways. We all know you can't take a hit; why, the flat of my sword would crumple those fine bones."
Still boasting, the gnome unsheathed her sword and swung it perilously through the air. "To Ironforge!"

"I-indeed," Celune eyed the sword-swinging gnome askance. "L-let us be off, if w-we are indeed to g-go."

Tyhlae looked like she was going to take the blade at her side and show the gnome exactly how "easy" it would be to defeat her when she sighed and shook her head. "I very highly doubt that. Either way, I'll agree we should get moving." Not waiting for anyone to take the initiative, Tyhlae began walking, her dragonhawk following beside her.
"Not to boss anyone around but if there's a legitimate reason for this then this could be more dangerous than a jaunt through the tram might usually be. In that case, I'd suggest not leaving a spell caster at the end of the line, behind everyone. In fact, if Miss Monette thinks herself strong enough I'd suggest she cover the rear. Let's not keep our dwarven friends in Ironforge waiting too long."
((Come on people, let's get moving. And someone with an idea of where to go with this take the lead. Or Kaez, for that matter. ^^))

Shade laughed as everyone began the journey. "She calls us 'skinny things' yet she's the one half our size. She'll see what the Sin'dorei can do."
