In-game roleplayers in Northrend. Yup.
It IS POSSIBLE! Just imagine for a moment: the first to step off the boat actually stop to appreciate the foreboding scenery and shiver at the cold. The Northrend quests will be appreciated for their significance in historical lore. And maybe... the arthas encounter will have IC motives behind it instead of just the desire for epic lewts.
Here is how! I propose a new guild named "The New Dawn" that will act as a new regiment of Argent Dawn soldiers being trained and tutored for the ultimate goal of venturing to Northrend and putting an end to the scourge. The guild will provide IC reasons for leveling.
We should have high-level "zone experts" who know exactly how and where quests in each zone can be quickly finished, and "instance experts" who give IC reasons to go into instances as well as helping run them through the instance itself.
More importantly, there will be entire raid groups (which, last time I checked, shared xp gain and quests, but I could be wrong) having episodic adventures that involve clearing entire zones and finishing all the quests together. I've got these episodes planned so that the progression from zone to zone as we level will make lore and storyline sense. Alliance will be proving themselves to the Argent Dawn and following the path of Arthas in order to get inside his head, and Horde will be proving themselves to the Dawn and following the path of Ner'zhul in order to find his weakness. This way we have RP in-character reasons to go out and finish quests and lvl.
Rpers of any level, even the in-between levels may join up as Argent Dawn trainers, testers, or guides until the main group(s) catch(es) up to their level and they can be assimilated. Since Blizz is making leveling in the old world much easier and faster, we should be able to have a large guild of lvl 70 Rpers as the first guys in Northrend on whatever realm we do this on.
As for Realm, I think we should either go to the famous Moonguard, "haven of RP", or perhaps Twisting Nether, home of the legendary Cartel Enforcers.
Any ideas? Suggestions?
