Hello, hello, hello.
The closed thread board was looking awful lonely, so I figured I might as well liven it up. Trespass is the direct result. If you wish to read and not participate, I don't advise reading further. Spoilers and all that. . . If this doesn't kick up too much interest I'll keep writing in it as if it were a story. More opportunity for me to develop Kori and all that, in a controlled environment.

The Hunter
Dreyu, a middle-aged Tauren male loyal to the Horde, has been contracted by a member of the Consortium. He is a well-known hunter and a charismatic leader (and also open to being played, though I'll discuss that later). He was offered the opportunity to reclaim honor lost at the hands of a member of the Lower City. This particular individual had slandered his name after a job went south due to Alliance interference, and the person disappeared along with one of Dreyu's most favored companions: an old wolf by the name of Windfli. Dreyu has been seeking information regarding this member of the Lower City, a Broken man who went by the alias of 'Runner,' doubtless not his real name. The Consortium member, not keen to give his own name, promised Dreyu a direct shot of vengeance if the tauren took the job.
It was simple enough. The Consortium trafficked in many things, and caravans were the cheapest solution. One such started in Nagrand, heading towards Shattrath, but had somehow gotten mixed up in directions, and ended up east of the Wastes. That was the last the caravan had been heard of, and it was presumed to be mostly intact, but held up by an unknown. Dreyu knew there was more to the story, knew something was amiss, but was an able man. He could handle it with the right people. Hunters typically work alone, but Dreyu was well-known, with many resources and allies. He contacted an old buddy from Thrallmar, a retired orc Captain (also playable) who assisted in the Horde stables for. . .well, let's just say he lived comfortably. Very comfortably. Dreyu told the Captain, Turgall, the entire sordid mess. Turgall agreed to help the hunter recruit the man-power necessary for the job.
The Crew
Between Dreyu and Turgall, a few good men and women were recruited that were known by orc and tauren. These formed the meat of the group, and were loyal to Dreyu and Turgall both. However, these were not enough men for Dreyu's satisfaction. He went out to the mercenaries and swords-for-hire. With Turgall's assistance they rounded up the remaining few necessary for the job at hand, promising easy money, and returned to the Consortium member as ready to go. The Consortium representative gave Dreyu a few supplies and directions on where to go. . .where the caravan was assumed to be.
Dreyu and Turgall had an easy time with their allies, but the hired help was a suspicious, rowdy bunch. They lost one on the trip east of Shattrath; Turgall soundly beating the man in a fair bout and sending him back to Shattrath sans payment. The rest were more or less meek after that incident, but tensions simmered. Trust was not a commodity easy to be found in such a situation, and many talked amongst themselves. Racial tensions as well, not considered by the tauren, were bubbling close to the surface. These broke when the group was attacked as they traveled the Waste, and several scattered as they sought to regroup in a small formation of rocks. Exactly what happened, the crew of mis-matched adventurers do not know.
The Assassin
Alliance by birth, shadows by choice, this one had a job. A contract. It was a tauren hunter who broke it, and lost this one (playable) an esteemed position within the Guild. It was the largest Guild, comprised of rogues, thieves and assassins, in all of Azeroth. It had a fine choke-hold in the Outland. The Alliance member lost it all. Unknowing of the part the Broken played in the entire mess, this one could only see the cause of the ruin: the tauren Dreyu. This one has waited, stalking, watching. A foothold in the Consortium assured Dreyu to be in a place easily accessable to a highly trained assassin. This one knows the job, the players, and the movements--but not what happened to the caravan. Assumed easy pickings, perhaps more has been bitten off than can be chewed?
The Caravan
Caravans were easy work. That's what was told to the crew ordered along the transport to Shattrath, but that's not what happened. Scattered, confused, injured and in an unfamiliar terrain, these folk are in need of some serious help. Terrokkar is an unfriendly place, and to be lost is even more so. They refuse to give up on their precious cargo, but what it is and why it is so important they aren't saying. . .
The Broken
What part does Runner play in this whole mess? The Consortium knows him, and he knows the Consortium. He is not dead, and he is in a place not many know of, but for a few trusted allies. And if it's only allies who know where he is, what might that spell for Dreyu?
The Unknown
Something has attacked the crew of adventurers. Something has scattered the Caravan and prowls about, waiting for the members to drop their guards. Something picks them off. Even the Alliance is at a loss, and the Consortium can't be contacted now. . .
Unplayable Characters
Please note that these are controllable by all, but not any single person.
The Unknown:
Lurking presence, indistinct. Monstrous, horror-filled, all-knowing. Scary stuff lurks about in Terokkar, and it wants at that Caravan. It's shy of being seen, likes the dark, but is unable to attack those prepared for it. It relies on stealth and cunning.
Runner & the Consortium rep:
These guys have an agenda on their shoulders. Runner is in contact with the shady Consortium rep, but who exactly is being played here? Both are greedy, potentially out of necessity. What's the story behind them?
Playable Characters
Dreyu, Turgall, The Crew, The Caravan, The Assassin, other on approval.
Factions are:
Horde
Alliance
Dreyu's Crew (those loyal to Dreyu and Turgall go under here)
Self/Neutral (if you choose this, let us know who your character is around, please. As in, self: sword-for-hire under Dreyu. Can be H/A, just give a damn good reason for A)
Consortium/Caravan (The caravan is comprised of Consortium members and other hirelings. Can be Horde or Alliance races)
Other on approval
Here is the sheet you need to fill out:
Name:
Age/Age range: (if you don't have a number, please give an approximate. I'll accept things like 'middle-aged,' 'elder,' 'youth,' etc)
Race:
Profession/Class:
Faction:
Brief Personality:
Brief Physical Description:
Brief History:
Where is your character?:
Reason for being where s/he is:
Now then, anyone wanting to play Dreyu or Turgall need to have a few things understood before you submit a sheet with the info. Dreyu may be bent on giving Runner, but other than that he's still a typical tauren. Polite guy, well-spoken, good leadership, keeps his head. Turgall is a retired Captain, so he knows his shiz. Beyond that go wild with Turgall. The Alliance assassin is completely open in terms of development, have fun with that. UNLESS SOMEONE TAKES CONTROL OF THESE CHARACTERS THEY ARE FREE FOR ALL. In other words, you can control them and have them interact with your character. Just don't. . .play them too heavily in a direction that might start developing them beyond what someone might want to take over. If that makes sense.
