Name: Ryette Lucradore
Age: 32
Gender: Female
Race: Blood elf
Class: Medic (wears some chainmail but no plate; able to heal injured soldiers after battle and can hold her own against an enemy; think of it as an underpowered paladin)
Faction: Horde
Social Standing: Nouveau Riche previously, now Middle Class
Personality: Ryette is a hardened medic; she drops slang and foul language with the worst of soldiers, holding her own in "contests of words" (euphemism!). She has lost most of her easy, luxurious upbringing, and barely remembers how to strum a harp, an instrument she played daily as a child. She's blunt and harsh, like the world that made her.
Role: Ryette is trying to earn some spending money by doing odd jobs (quests).
Physical Appearance: Ryette has a shock of short boyishly-cut blonde hair; she wears it in a severe bun most of the time. Her eyes are the palest green, having been likened to jade in the past. She has squarish, pragmatic features; not the most beautiful of the blood elves, Ryette's heavy-boned and almost human in her body type. She's 5'7'' and weighs around 145 pounds. Heavy-set for a blood elf, Ryette can take a hit and deal damage out as well.
Equipment: Ryette has her trusty mace, a somewhat stained chain mail shirt, and practical leather leggings. All of her gear could easily have been pilfered from a soldier's kit, with the exception of the amulet she wears around her neck. The amulet consists of a ruby set in a silver casing; it dangles on a delicate silver thread. It is both an heirloom of her family (the only thing she saved from her brother's debt) and a magical device, imbued with the power of the church from the brief stint she spent there.
A friendly minor spirit named Nitre lives in the amulet, perhaps the spirit of one of Ryette's ancestors. It is extremely wise and gives her advice from time to time. However, the spirit is also fickle; it usually doesn't talk to Ryette unless she is in grave danger. It has saved her many a time from the Scourge.
Brief History:
Ryette was once a spoiled brat; during her childhood, the blood elf's life revolved around pretty gowns, handsome hats, and the dashing Blood Knights that would sup at the Lucradore estate. Her family was immensely wealthy, and the young blood elf couldn't wait to be united in holy matrimony with a young Blood Knight. Alas, her dreams never came to fruition.
It seemed that the blood elf's life crumbled to dust on the eve of her adolescence. Her father died of the plague, and her mother took to wandering about the house listlessly and drinking too much wine. Her younger brother took after the mother's example, spending life in a drunken haze. The two appeared more susceptible to alcoholism than normal, becoming dizzy after a single glass of wine. (Alcohol is Ryette's weakness; if she drinks it she is easily swindled.)
In a single debauched week in Silvermoon, Ryette's younger brother, Torniel (her only sibling) lost the family fortune gambling against a few goblins. (This explains Ryette's distaste for goblins.) The family had to sell their entire estate to pay the young drunk's debts.
Angry and unable to live with her drunken family anymore, the blood elf swore off alcohol and joined the ranks of the church, discovering her healing skills. Hoping to regain some of her former financial security, Ryette left the church for a hardened band of soldiers. She worked as a medic in the Ghostlands, gaining scars, experience, and a jaded view of the world in the process.
