Vanaria's head throbbed from her torture. Her bones ached and her mind was in a haze from the abuse she had received from her 'allies', the humans.
The Blood Elf hefted Vanaria over his shoulder. She was to weak to put up a protest. As the eagle pounded into the shack, the frail elf sent shards of ice into it's eye's. The monster bellowed from both the pain of the Blood Elf's poison and the pain of Vanaria's ice. "Thats... all I can do..." Vanaria mumbled with waning strength. Her eyes leered over to the human, sensing her abundance of ice magic.
The guards outside quickly took notice to the flailing gryphon's shriek. Two men and the griffin master charged the group. "Stop them. Don't let the Elves escape, kill the traitorous human!"
"Don't hurt them... they're only obeying orders..."

Shade was ready to protest that, but Vanaria was right. These guards are men just following orders from their commander. He looked to the left and right so see the area filled with guards. There was one option he had left. Calling to Celune as well as telling Vanaria on his shoulder, "Hold your breath and shield your eyes!" At once, Shade pulled out a smoke bomb and chucked it to the ground, creating a large cloud of smoke. Guards tackled each other thinking they were the purpatrator until they had a clear view on their captives. Other guards were coughing, blindly waving their arms to find their way around, bumping into trees, over rocks, even into each other.
"Find them!" the captain yelled. "Find them before-" but before he continued, the smoke began to clear. The captain was expecting to his his army have them all captured, but instead he saw his men bumping into each other and random objects. "You FOOLS!" he barked with his face redder than an apple. "You've let them escape!!!"
Meanwhile, a distance away, Shade continued running with Celune right behind. Vanaria still lay over his shoulder as they madeway east. Even as his lungs scream in agony, he kept on running until he was sure the guards would no longer be following them. Settling down, he lay Vanaria on her back in a shadow of a tree and sat down on a stump that was a few feet in the area. Shade looked through his pouch and signed. "There goes my last smoke bomb..."
